ITIL AI Governance (Version 5) Course

ITIL AI Governance (Version 5) is about using AI at work responsibly: who is accountable, what can go wrong, what regulators expect, and how to put sensible guardrails in place without blocking useful work.

It is an extension module and the only one in the ITIL scheme with no prerequisite. You do not need an ITIL certification, an AI background or an IT background to take it.

What the course covers:

The basics: what AI governance is, and why so many organisations struggle with it
The benefits and the risks of AI, and how to balance the two
How AI affects your products, your services, your day-to-day work and your decisions
What good AI governance actually looks like, and how it develops as an organisation matures
The ITIL AI Capability Model and the ITIL AI Governance Improvement Model
How global and national AI regulation shapes what your organisation has to do

Because AI affects every role and every function, this module is written for a mixed audience: technical and non-technical, in any industry.

Objectives

Following the completion of the course participants should be able to:

Put oversight, accountability, transparency and ethical safeguards in place around AI use
Apply AI governance to real workplace situations, across the whole AI governance lifecycle
Use the ITIL AI Capability Model to work out what level of governance a given AI capability needs
Use the ITIL AI Governance Improvement Model to assess where you are, decide what to change, and keep governance working over time
Explain how AI regulation shapes your organisation’s policies and responsibilities
Combine ITIL AI governance with other frameworks you already use
and pass the ITIL AI Governance (Version 5) exam.

The ITIL AI Governance Exam

The ITIL AI Governance (Version 5) exam is 40 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes. It is open book, and you need 70% to pass.

Pass mark: 70%, which means 28 correct answers out of 40
Conditions: open book

Upon successful completion of the exam and following confirmation of the results, the participants will receive a unique, secure and auditable electronic certificate from PeopleCert.
