PRINCE2 Overview Course

The PRINCE2® Overview Course provides delegates with a guide on how PRINCE2 might be used to improve project success. This one day event provides an introduction to the PRINCE2 methodology, focusing on the process-oriented approach of PRINCE2 and the value of using it for implementing projects.

This course, delivered as a classroom event, is designed for people who require an understanding of the relationship between the business case, programmes and projects, as well as an overview of the PRINCE2 principles, themes, and processes, whilst gaining a PRINCE2 view of the roles within a project, risk and issue management.

TARGET AUDIENCE

• Project Managers, Project Team Members, Team Managers, Assistant Project managers, Aspirant Project Managers looking for  a controlled approach to managing projects
• Senior managers.

OBJECTIVES

Following the completion of the course participants should:

• Understand the relationship between principles, processes, themes, products and roles within a PRINCE2 project
• Understand the benefits and principles that can be found in a structured approach to project management
• Understand the principles of PRINCE2 within a work environment
• Understand the roles and responsibilities of the participants in a PRINCE2 project
• Be able to assess the value of the method to their organization.

PREREQUISITES

It is desirable but not essential that participants have some experience of working on projects.

PRINCE2 Senior Management Session

The PRINCE2 Senior Management Session is designed for Decision-Makers and Senior Managers, especially those with Project Board responsibilities who require an understanding of the PRINCE2 project management method. This can be either a half / full day session focusing in particular on the Directing a Project (DP) process, the Controls component, and the roles and responsibilities of the Project Board.

This course, delivered as a classroom event, is designed for Senior Managers and Project Board members who require an understanding of how to oversee projects being managed using PRINCE2. The event provides a high-level introduction to the method, with a focus on the organisation and control aspects of the Project Board.

TARGET AUDIENCE

• Senior Managers and Decision-Makers with Project Board responsibilities.

OBJECTIVES

Following the completion of the course participants should:

• Understand the basic principles, terminology and structure embodied within the method. 
• Understand the benefits and principles that can be found in a structured approach to project management using PRINCE2.
• Provide Decision-Makers with an appreciation of both the Principles of PRINCE2 and the key elements of the “Directing a Project” Process.

PREREQUISITES

It is desirable but not essential that participants have some experience of working on projects.

PRINCE2 Customised Case Study

The Customised Case Study will tailor the training programme to the exact needs of your company. A customised Case Study can be used to show the practical application of PRINCE2 in your company. It is proposed that in collaboration with a key Project Manager of the client, a unique case study is developed based on the client’s work practice. This case study will form the basis of the exercises during the course. A customised case study will facilitate the understanding of the PRINCE2 methodology.
